Home grown, hormone free. Calves are raised from their mother’s side all the
way to full growth under the same owner. Baker Beef gives the customer
quality beef at a reasonable price. Other competitors are offering quality
beef, but not at Baker Beef prices.
If you can tell me where the beef you buy in the supermarket came from I'd like to know. Everyday I see the animals grow that I'm going to butcher. Large scale operations, well they are large scale operations. They mass produce and make profits by selling large amounts of beef. Some feedlots can get as large as 10,000 and some much bigger. I have anywhere from 4-12 animals on feed at one time . Calves are born from March to late April. They are then put to grass with their mothers in early May. There they stay growing until September. The calves are then weaned from their mothers and are put on a high starch and protein diet were the weight is really started to be put on. The calves will stay with this diet until butcher. 18-22 months after birth they are ready for the table and sent to the butcher. |
